A Detailed Subject-wise UPPSC PCS 2022 Prelims Analysis

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts the Uttar Pradesh Combined State/Upper Subordinate Exam (UPPSC). UPPCS selects state government officials in provincial civil services and other state services through this exam. Selected candidates are assigned to various important departments such as land records, land revenue, general administration, and so on.

The UPPSC PCS Prelims 2022 exam took place in two shifts on June 12, 2022. According to the initial responses from many aspirants, UP PCS Pre 2022 GS Paper 1 was on the predicted lines, and the difficulty level of the question paper was reasonable. The question paper focused on factual questions, which was manageable. Every candidate should be aware that the UPPCS Pre 2022 cut-off is determined based on the marks obtained by candidates in GS Paper 1. In the GS paper 2 (CSAT), candidates must only obtain minimum qualifying marks equal to one-third of the total (66.67 marks).

Detailed UPPSC PCS Prelims Subject-wise Analysis

Let’s understand the type of questions that were asked in order to determine the difficulty level for each section.

Indian Polity

This section’s questions were easy to moderate. If your concepts are clear, you will encounter several simple questions like CAG and scheduling. However, the paper also included several mild but manageable queries, such as those on the Public Accounts Committee and local self-government committees.

Environment

This section’s questions were easy to moderate. This year, a substantial amount of questions from this section were asked. Simple questions like DDT, biomass energy, greenhouse gases, and the EPA were asked.

Geography

Overall, the questions in this section were challenging. If you are proficient in the usual areas, you would have marked the correct answer to the majority of the questions. Questions were posed about Borneo Island, the deepest point in the ocean, and the hills.

History

This section’s questions ranged from moderate to challenging. This section’s questions came from ancient and modern history, as well as medieval history. Questions from socio-reform movements and the Ghadar Party were raised in contemporary history. In ancient and medieval times, questions such as tutinama, coinage during the Gupta period, and inscriptions were asked.

Science & Technology

This section’s questions were moderate. Questions centred on biology topics, such as influenza, carbon, rayon, and Sinovac for COVID, among others.

Economy

This section’s questions were also easy to moderate level. The paper contained WTO and UNDP questions as well. This section’s questions were more dynamic in nature, with a focus on current affairs. The questions were simple and straightforward.

Current Affairs

There were a lot of questions on current affairs, the majority from the state’s current affairs. The questions were dynamic and were from the last year’s current affairs before the exam date. Questions included visits, smart cities, data banks, and international bridge championships. Questions from schemes such as SVANidhi were manageable. There were also serious questions about the State budget and the Union budget.
